Who is Dr. Luttrull?

Dr. Luttrull is a 4th generation physician and surgeon. His family settled in Ventura in 1968, and he has been fortunate to remain in Southern California to complete his education, raise his family, and practice medicine. View Dr. Luttrull's qualifications.

Dr. Luttrull attended Balboa Junior High School , Buena Senior High School , and Ventura College in Ventura . His college education continued at UCSB and UCLA. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with departmental “Distinction” honors from Point Loma College , San Diego , in Chemistry.

Dr. Luttrull graduated medical school at the University of Southern California , and completed an internship in Ophthalmology at the Los Angeles County / USC Medical Center. His specialty residency training in Ophthalmology was obtained at the Estelle Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles where he received honors for original research. By his fellow ophthalmology residents, he was honored for his clinical teaching. Subspecialty fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery was completed at the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Institute and Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland . He returned to Ventura to the private practice of surgery and consultation for diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula in 1988.

Outside the office, Dr. Luttrull’s interests center on his family; his lovely wife and their 5 children. He is active in his church, playing soccer, coaching soccer, watching soccer (you get the picture) surfing, great books, cooking, and playing jazz trumpet in various combos (download his most recent jazz album "from nothing" at digstation.com, cdbaby.com, or itunes.com).
